If it's Saturday and it's both early (I woke up at 5:30 am) and chyllie (42 degrees) ... we're hood'n up and bipedal'n on over for mochas and donuts!

No trip to the bakery/coffee shop/anywhere is complete until we make a stop at the park on the way home ...

Despite the cold, color started to appear in Mom's gardens this weekend ...

... but b/c I wouldn't sit still for pics with the flowers, this was the best Dad could do to get us in the same shot.

We had lots of friends over for a backyard dinner Saturday ... and I had fun sampling all the fine desserts and hanging out with the XX's from Dad's lab.

I couldn't wait past 6 am to be the first to wish Mom a happy day on Sunday morning ... and after a much-needed nap, we all headed over to the free zoo in our city's twin.

Although I liked the tiger, lions, and zebras ... my attention was particularly drawn to the carnival rides that are still a few years down the road for me.

Overall, a great weekend ... which was finished off with a big smile and hug for Mom in front of her favorite sideyard tree.
