Path weary

Can you tell I'm excited to have my own bike? Last night Dad and I were out Firefly'n around until after 8 pm; I rode to Betsy's house and back. Tonight I Firefly'd over to the market and back for mile 1. Then I Firefly'd over to Betsy's again ... and Firefly'd back. All in all tonight ... ~3 miles. Oh, and we stopped along the way to Betsy's so I could expend a little energy:
If you're in the area and want to get some brisk walking/jogging exercise by accompanying an excited 3 year old and her Firefly around the neighborhood, let me know! I'm wearing Mom and Dad out!

Mid March

It's been a busy last 10 days! The day after St. Patrick's Day we took the #4 to the Capitol, passed through all the security measures (the scanners found 2 sets of keys I had stuffed into my overalls) and left a shamrock w/a note for our dear governor at the security post outside his office. I wrote it out, whispered the content into Mom's ear, and then she translated it for Scott (who we assumed isn't fluent in Lyllieese).
The next day (Saturday) Mom had to work on her school research, so Dad, Finn, and I headed out for my longest tag-a-long yet around the lake. Check out the movie below to see what fun we had (we're learning about the whole video-editing thing, so accept our apologies that the movies are still a bit rough!)
We've entertained a whole slew of visitors ... and somehow failed to photograph our friends from Minnesota (all 5 of them!) who visited for the weekend ... and GMO who was filling in for our daycare ladies ... but we did snap a pic with my great uncle Jim (visiting all the way from Indonesia) ...
... and Grammy and Grampa and Ellen and Katie who filled in for our daycare ladies after GMO left.
Through all the visitors and wacky sleeping arrangements and an undocumented ear infection (Finn's 2nd in 2 weeks) and strep throat (me), we've been learning new tricks. Finn's level of independence is skyrocketing: he now has 4 chompers and eats just about everything by himself ...
... and you can eliminate "sedentary" from the adjectives used to describe him (but not "sumo-esque")! He crawls/scoots/moves! I'm not quite prepared for this latest development as my things are still everywhere and I'm not a big fan of Finn's curiosity as it pertains to my things.
While Finn has just learned how to utilize his "wheels", I just got a new set to call my own. Everyone, meet my Firefly ...
... I put over a mile on it this afternoon biking to the market and back and was so excited/proud I couldn't take a nap afterwards! Next on the agenda is more practice so that we can take off those 2 extra wheels!

Green shakers

If it's darn near St. Paddy's Day ... it's putting on my gardening gloves before tag-along'n on over to the big "M" restaurant for some green shakers!

We love teachers! We love democracy!

We've been busy for the last month spending many many hours down at the Capitol ...

... and we haven't been alone!
We've played at the Children's Museum across the street before heading over to the protests ...
... we've marched alongside Waldo ...
... when we were still allowed (and once when we weren't) we'd go inside and check out the signs ...
... and cheer for our cause.
We've protested from the steps ...
... and while taking steps.
Through it all I've come to a pretty good understanding of what is going on. I even shed a tear when I found out that the "meanies" weren't allowing us inside "my Capitol ... OUR Capitol!" Tonight after dinner Mom and Dad finally captured my protestisms on video - see for yourself!
