My Xmas in MI

We left Wisconsin a tad before 5 am and battled the icy MI roads to arrive at my MI grandparents' in the early afternoon. As soon as we arrived, my patient cousins finally got to start opening their gifts.

In the days following Xmas, the entire family continued a tradition of driving out to the
to listen to a local folk band. Cousins Ben and Bryan were in a goofy mood ...... and after Grammy gave me a slice of citrus, I made a funny face, too!
While in MI I discovered a love for jewelry ... I found a couple of beaded necklaces and figured out how to put them on and then refused to take them off!
After spending a week with me, aunt Cara said I'm on a constant hunt for all things food and drink ... particuarly drinks that are a bit too big for me.
One of Grammy and Grampa's Xmas gifts was an overnight stay at a local resort that has a huge waterpark, so all the aunts, uncles, and cousins spent a couple of days playing in the warm water inside while it was cold and snowy outside.
Before beginning our long trip home, we had dinner with Mom's/Dad's friends Ben and Chelsea and my friends Lucy and Hattie. We shared lots of giggles and smiles and Lucy and Hattie let me play with some of their cool toys before bed time put an end to a fun night.
The week in MI came to an end on the last day of 2008 ... and I posed with Grammy and Grampa before we started our Subaru adventure towards home.

WiscoGetaway: holiday edition

It's been awhile since I last posted because I've been consumed with family, travel, and presents! The week before Xmas was spent at my WiscoGrandparents', relaxing with GDO ...

... and squeezing between GDO and GMO for the nightly news.I also visited my aunt Betsy in Milwaukee and played with her noise-makers ...... and showed off my new found ability of blowing my own nose! Hooray for Me!Xmas eve arrived and we decided to open presents earlier rather than later ...... I have lots of new toys and books ...
... and a new appliance for my kitchen. It was produced in GDO's workshop and aptly named ...After presents we got dressed up for church and then headed to bed before our long Xmas drive.

WiscoGetaway: beat the storm edition

With the big white storm heading our way, we reconsidered our plan to drive all the way to GDO/GMO's on Saturday and made a last-minute decision last night to pack up our holiday necessities and make it part way through WI to avoid a long, snowy Saturday drive. So after a final pic in front of my Blue Spruce, we headed off to my friend Jonah's.

If it's Saturday at Jonah's, it's first trampsing through mounds of snow to breakfast (no pics - but my croissant was delicious!) before lots of playful fun back at his new house.

And guess what I had fun staring at and turning on/off with Jonah's cool remote ...... a tree! These things are everywhere!

Chyllie checkup

The forecast wasn't wrong ... it's been brrrrrrrutally cold!

I had a checkup and shots today ... my doc said I'm taller than most, heavier and lighter than the same, and I appear to have inherited Dad's head size. My tallness (and reach) is rapidly reducing the places where Mom and Dad can store stuf that isn't mine.
Since I hadn't bathed in about 10 days, tonight Dad also made sure I no longer stink.

Hey warm-weather friends ...

... wanna come visit?

Weston's bash

My buddy Weston had his first bday party today and it served as another mini birth-class reunion because my buddy Morgan was there, too. Everyone tried to set up a reunion photo but I was more interested in checking out Weston's schnazzy play room ...

Snowless Saturday

If it's Saturday ... it's BOB'n through the snow for mochas and donuts! Today's temps hit the melting point for the first time in weeks so I enjoyed a bootless ride.
The 30s felt so good on our way home we stopped and played in the park ... where Mom and Dad realized I'm growing my first molar! Yikes!

The lack of posts this week was due to a lack of adventures ... most of my freetime is now spent in front of the blue spruce, debating whether touching the ornaments is worth the pricks that come with it.

Made for walk'n!

Mom and I got home before it got too dark tonight and went outside to check out the white stuff. Click on the picture (it comes to life) and watch me get around in my new boots!

Hunt for a blue spruce

As I snoozed inside, the mercury outside read 11 deg F. Brrr. I bundled up in a t-shirt, sweatshirt, 2 pant layers, socks, snowsuit, hat, mittens, and my new winter boots as we ventured out to find our Christmas tree.

I Kelty'd through the farm with Mom until we found the perfect tree ...
... and after Dad saw'd it down, we hauled it back to the car.
Now we'll see how stubborn I really am in terms of needle pricks ...

Celebration: St. Nick edition

Lucky Me ... 2 reasons to celebrate in 1 day! I woke up to find surprises in my shoe ...
... and had a blast eating sneaker snacks and blowing bubbles with aunt Betsy to start off a big day.

Celebration: I'm 1! edition

If it's Saturday and it's my first birthday ... it's a gingerbread cookie breakfast (thanks to Joanne the bakery lady)!

It's also donning my aunt Betsy's scarf and opening up a few presents ...... before a lot of friends came over to play and celebrate with me!
We had 7-up cake, chocolate zucchini cupcakes, and a fancily decorated cake ...... and they were all mmmm mmmm good.
My friend Rey stayed afterwards to help show me the finer points of pelican-walking and help me open up my other presents. All in all ... a great day filled with lots of smiles and friends!
