Distractions

With Mom working late, Dad and I ventured out to find the neighborhood swings but, as usual, got sidetracked along the way trying to make friends ...

... and taking a moment to reflect ...
... and by chasing a squirrel up a tree ...
... before finally spotting the original destination in the distance.
However, there were wheels to hijack ...
... before finally relenting and getting in a "weeee" or two.

Cleanup

With yard waste everywhere and winter-like weather on the way (overnight forecast: 34 deg) we decided to clean things up a bit tonight. After BOB'n over to the hardware store to pick up a rake, we loaded up the wheelbarrow ...
... and added it to our street's giant compost pile at the end of the block.

Separation

It's been a few days sans bird feeder filling and picture-taking because I was whisked away by GMO and GDO to their Northwoods Hideaway for the weekend. Last Friday morning I awaited their arrival out front by myself ...
... and returned home this afternoon and broke out a new form of rain protection on a chyllie, windy, and rainy Monday.
Mom and Dad were happy to send me off fishing so they could paint, re-finish, hang, de-nail, organize, and attend a musical - all in only 3 days.

Unfriendly Brew

Thanks to the Brewers' woeful season, we found $3 tickets and headed east to meet up with GMO, GDO, and aunt Betsy in Milwaukee ... fully expecting to experience LIAW#5. I now know the word "baseball" and have been eager to enjoy another ballpark hotdog since our last trip to the Friendly Confines. Unfortunately, the Cubbies' bats went silent and our camera battery was dead (these pics brought to you by phone). A bummer result but a fun evening nonetheless.

Happy plants and birds

Our first rainy day of the month didn't keep me from my daily routine of replenishing my feather'd friends' food supply in the front yard today.

WeekendWrapUp: parade edition

Saturday found Baby Belle and I parading around the Farmers' Market on the Square ...
... before we headed to the bizarreness that is the Willy St. Fair. Lots of weird-looking things can be found at the fair ....
... as evidenced by our return to the fair on Sunday for lunch and the parade.

New toys

Reading my new book about bike-riding frogs put me in the mood to wear my helmet around the house this morning ... but I took it off to drive my new car both before and after assembly!

E's all around

For my last time as the recipient of free admission ... we headed down to the Friendly Confines to meet up with my aunt Kristin and to cheer on the Cubbies!
My last trip fresh in my mind, I knew just what I wanted to eat before the game started ...
The kettle corn didn't fill me up, though, so I scarfed down a hotdog and a half over the first few innings ...
... which were anything but funny for Cubs fans due to the holes in the Cubbies infield defense.
So instead of watching the pathetic play on the diamond, I opted for a game of hat removal with Kristin ...
... and singing "YMCA" with Mom ...
... until the Cubs and the crowd came roaring back in the late innings ...... only to see the Cubs blow it in the 9th. I guess we'll just have to wait until next year.

Training commences

Clothes were optional as Mom and I enjoyed her day off today. We tried out a couple of different swimming pools around town before I spent the rest of my day sans attire in the back/skinny-side/front yards ...
... interrupted by a quick trip inside for my first go at a toilet. No excretory success to report, but I did look like a natural first unrolling and then flushing the toilet paper.
